About

My name is Okanlawon Babatunde, BIM Consulatant at Technical BIM Studio, Worcester UK. I obtained MSc.in  BIM and Integrated Design at The University of Salford Manchester, UK

BIM Authoring Software Survey is a blog where I am  immensely exploring the opportunities that the Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology has to offer our generation and the generations to come.
I have extensive experience in CAD and BIM authoring Software. I have use AutoCAD from version 2004 to the current version, Revit Architecture 2009 to the current version, ArchiCAD 11 to ArchiCAD 16. I am  an associate member of Construction Architects and Engineers in Finland (2011-2013) and an associate member of CIAT UK since 2015.

During the course of my exploration, while I worked closely to BIM managers, I realised that the opportunities of BIM technology is often discussed compared to the challenges and limitations. One of the challenges that caught my attention is the reluctance of small-sized and solo architects and engineers to adopt BIM technology and implement it to the fullest even when they are aware of the opportunities. Therefore I have created this blog in order to tackle some of these limitations through open discussions, and publish news, tutorials, thoughts and comments about AEC related BIM software.
The intention of this blog is not to criticise or appraise any BIM authoring software, but to create a platform where we can compare these tools by discussing and sharing their limitations and opportunities when they are used to solve similar construction problems or tasks

Thank you for checking out my blog and I hope you will find something useful on this site, Please feel free to leave your comments, suggestions, opinions and feedback whenever necessary. Happy viewing!
